Job Description
A Bar Manager / Pub Manager is sought to join this award-winning organisation in Exeter,Devon to manage two vibrant and lively bars.
TITLE: Bar Manager / Pub Manager
LOCATION: Exeter, Devon
SALARY: £23,608 per annum
STARTING DATE: October 2010
HOURS: 1898 per annum; working times & days by rota to be agreed
BENEFITS: Six weeks’ annual leave (pro rata), childcare vouchers, pension scheme
This organisation is now looking for a Bar Manager / Pub Manager, confident and with lots of experience and a passion to drive their businesses forward.
The ideal Bar Manager / Pub Manager will possess:
€¢ A degree, NVQ Level III or equivalent
€¢ Proven experience managing and developing a successful commercial activity
€¢ Significant experience managing a team of staff operational management experience within either a catering, bars or retail environment
€¢ Marketing experience, including analysing markets and developing plans, would be an advantageous but not essential
To succeed in this role as a Bar Manager / Pub Manager you will be expected to:
€¢ Manage both bars on a day-to-day basis
€¢ Lead on and take responsibility for the short, medium and long-term strategic development of the bars
€¢ Achieve and where possible exceed budgeted sales and contribution targets, whilst demonstrating a rigid control of all associated costs
€¢ Embark upon a continuous programme of procedural and practical improvements to drive greater efficiency within and across both units
€¢ Create, maintain and evolve an integrated Bars Department that amalgamates practices, procedures and general operations
€¢ Be responsible for all staffing matters, ensuring that all permanent and casual members of staff are trained to the standard appropriate to their post
€¢ Regularly and rigorously undertake financial analysis of all parts of the monthly/year end Budget Reports, identifying and rectifying areas that are underperforming in relation to agreed budgets via time bound action plans
€¢ Be a personal license holder for the organisation and uphold at all times 2003 Licensing Act licensing principles in support of the DPL Holder
